Welcome 2020! Our January Challenge for You
Wow! Can you believe we are into a new year and a new decade already? A new year and especially new decade always feels like we have been given a new fresh start. A time to set new goals and intentions. However it is important to remember a new goal or intention can be set any time of the year. It doesn't have to be only in January.
But I do find with weather being so cold and the nights starting so early, we are more likely to hibernate indoors where we can stay warm and comfy, which makes this time of year the perfect time to set and work towards your photo organizing goals!
If organizing your photos has been on your to-do list for a while now, why not make it your goal to have your photo collection organized by the end of the year. Giving yourself the whole year to accomplish this task will make it seem less overwhelming as you work away at small chunks.
January Challenge
Is organizing your photos a goal for your 2020?
If so, this January I challenge you to take the first most important step - GATHER all of your photos in one location!
Designate one area in your home that will be undisturbed but easy to access - such as a spare room, empty office desk or even the dining room table if it doesn't get used regularly.
By gathering everything together into one location, you can access how big your collection really is and set up a space to work in - even if it is only 20 minutes a day or a couple hours a week, you will begin to see progress!
Pull the photo albums off the shelves, grab the boxes from the closet, attic or basement, and grab all of the loose photos from the fridge, junk drawer and nightstand. Grab those old family VHS tapes, reel tapes, slides and negatives and don't forget to grab all of your digital media as well! This includes old CDs, DVDs, USB Sticks, Memory cards, hard drives etc.
To prevent feeling overwhelmed, remember to focus on one small batch of photos or one digital device at a time.
